Synchro for teaching FMGs: what we do, what we don't do yet.
A teaching FMG (GMF-U) is first of all an FMG. Synchro covers everything the two have in common today: schedules, offices, on-call, walk-ins. The specifically academic layer, meaning resident rotations, supervising physicians and rotation credit, is not in the product right now. We would rather be clear about that than pretend otherwise.

If your main headache is managing schedules, offices, on-call shifts and walk-ins, Synchro will be useful to you as early as next week.
If your main headache is resident rotation and rotation credit, Synchro is not an off-the-shelf answer yet. But it is worth a conversation: if your GMF-U is willing to work with us as a development partner, we can build those features together.
What Synchro does in your GMF-U today
A GMF-U shares 80 % of its operational problems with a standard FMG. Every Synchro feature applies:
- Walk-in assignment handled automatically across available physicians and professionals.
- Fair on-call distribution, with unfavourable slots weighted accordingly.
- Shared-office assignment across physicians, supervisors, residents and other staff.
- Team calendar, shared and visible to everyone.
- Natural-language constraints: each user enters their availability and preferences the way they would say them out loud.
- Shift transfers through an online board, with no phone-call cascade.
In practice, your GMF-U manager gets back the same tens of hours a month a standard FMG manager does, for everything that isn't specifically academic.
What Synchro does not do yet
The specifically university-side features are not in the product today:
- Resident rotation by rotation type (family medicine block, pediatrics, geriatrics, obstetrics, and so on)
- Automatic supervisor-resident pairing with supervision ratios and a pedagogical diversity rule
- Rotation credit tracking (weeks completed against weeks required)
- Structured protection of academic half-days as an untouchable constraint in the schedule
- Integration with university platforms (digital portfolio, formative evaluations, university Logibec tools)

Do you really build to order?
Yes, after a conversation. A simple feature can ship quickly. A full rebuild of rotation management takes longer. We give you a real estimate once we understand the need.
Can we start with the current features and add the resident features later?
Absolutely. Plenty of GMF-U teams already need an answer for the 80 % they share with every other FMG, and you don't have to wait for everything to be ready before you start saving time.
